Overview

Dalton Golf & Country Club in Dalton, GA is looking for a Sous Chef, where your passion for food and leadership will elevate our kitchen operations to new heights. In this vital role, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen activities, ensuring exceptional food quality, safety, and service standards are consistently met. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills while leading a team committed to hospitality and innovation.

Our ideal candidate is positive, has a team first attitude, able to operate independently and with supervision, self-driven and reliable. Experience in all cooking stations required and the ability to follow all sanitation procedures. Must be able to work evening, weekends and holidays.

DGCC is a fun, high volume country club offering both casual and elevated dining experiences and banquet/special event venues. Pay is dependent on experience.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to uphold high standards of quality and consistency.
Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, providing guidance on culinary techniques, safety procedures, and team management practices.
Oversee food safety sanitizing procedures and ensure compliance with health regulations across all kitchen activities.
Coordinate menu planning and food production for various service outlets, including fine dining, banquets, and catering events.
Manage inventory control and food handling processes to minimize waste, optimize costs, and maintain proper stock levels.
Lead shift management by organizing staff schedules, delegating tasks efficiently, and ensuring smooth service flow.
Enforce food safety standards and sanitization protocols to guarantee a safe environment for both staff and guests.

Experience

Proven experience in banquet settings with a strong background in catering operations.
Supervising experience within a high-volume restaurant or hospitality environment.
Extensive knowledge of food production, menu planning, and kitchen management in fine dining settings.
Demonstrated expertise in inventory management, cost control, and food service management.
Hands-on experience with food safety sanitizing procedures and proper food handling techniques.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining a positive work environment.
Familiarity with dietary department practices and catering requirements within the food industry.
Previous restaurant management experience is highly desirable, along with proficiency in shift management and culinary operations.
