Position Summary
The Chemical Operator / Compounder is responsible for the safe and efficient manufacturing of chemical products according to approved formulations, procedures, and quality standards. This position involves weighing, blending, mixing, processing, packaging, and documenting production batches while maintaining compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
Experience preferred: 2+ years.
Pay: $20+ per hour with 2+ years of verifiable work experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Accurately weigh and measure raw materials according to batch formulations.
· Operate mixers, reactors, tanks, pumps, blenders, mills, and other production equipment.
· Follow batch sheets, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Monitor processing conditions including temperature, pressure, mixing speed, viscosity, and pH.
· Collect samples for laboratory testing.
· Maintain accurate production records, batch documentation, and inventory transactions.
· Safely transfer, package, label, and stage finished products for shipment.
· Load and unload raw materials and finished goods using forklifts or material handling equipment.
· Perform routine equipment cleaning, inspections.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area following housekeeping standards.
· Identify and report quality, safety, equipment, or process issues to supervision.
· Comply with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and PPE standards.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
Qualifications Required
· High school diploma or GED.
· Manufacturing, chemical processing, or industrial production experience.
· Ability to read and follow batch instructions and safety procedures.
· Basic math skills including weights, measurements, and calculations.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
· Ability to work safely around chemicals and industrial equipment.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred
· Previous experience in chemical manufacturing, blending, compounding, or batch processing.
· Forklift certification or experience.
· Experience with ERP or inventory management systems.
· Knowledge of chemical handling and Hazard Communication (HazCom) requirements
Physical Requirements
· Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting.
· Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators when necessary.
· Ability to work in varying temperature environments and around production equipment.

The work environment is a manufacturing facility involving chemical raw materials, processing equipment, forklifts, and packaging operations. Employees must adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
