We are seeking a detail-oriented Aerospace and Defense Inspection Specialist 1 to support our Quality Management System and manufacturing operations while ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry requirements.
Position Summary
The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting and executing daily Quality Assurance activities to ensure compliance with customer requirements, engineering specifications, and regulatory standards.
This role focuses on product inspection, requiring the frequent use of hands-on measurements, quality system support, and continuous improvement activities while maintaining compliance with AS9100, AS13100, NADCAP and customer-specific requirements. The Quality Technician works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform in-process, final, and receiving inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Perform detailed visual inspections using microscopes, magnification devices, and precision inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and height gauges.
- Support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100, AS13100, and internal quality requirements.
- Participate in internal audits and support customer, AS9100, Nadcap, and other external audits as required.
- Review inspection records, certifications, quality documentation, and manufacturing records for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to identify quality issues and support process improvement initiatives.
- Support calibration activities and maintain inspection equipment and calibration records.
- Maintain accurate quality records and documentation in accordance with company procedures.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
- Ensure compliance with ITAR requirements and all applicable customer, regulatory, and company standards.
- Support additional quality initiatives and projects as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, inspection, or quality environment.
- Familiarity with inspection methods, measurement techniques, and quality documentation requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
- Experience using root cause analysis and corrective action tools such as 5 Whys and FMEA.
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Working knowledge of AS9100 and/or AS13100 quality standards.
- Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems and electronic quality management systems.
