Full Job Description

La Quinta by Wyndham is hiring for a self-motivated Maintenance Worker to perform daily upkeep of the property's interior and exterior and to join our team at the La Quinta by Wyndham located in Danbury, Connecticut.

Job Summary

The Hotel Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing minor repairs and general maintenance to uphold the property's condition according to hotel standards. This includes tasks requiring basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC.

Maintenance Worker Duties and Responsibilities:

Respond to guests' maintenance needs promptly and ensure guests receive professional, efficient, and courteous service according to hotel standards.
Maintain the hotel's physical appearance and operational efficiency, including physical, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and basic HVAC-related tasks.
Assist with installation and maintenance of equipment related to HVAC, water treatment, fire safety, and other building systems.
Ensure proper records are kept for all HVAC units, boilers, and hotel equipment, including repair and service logs.
Ensure the property, grounds, mechanical equipment, and work areas meet safety and operational standards and comply with all codes.
Maintain, monitor, and test the hotel's emergency and security systems such as fire alarms, CCTV, and sprinkler systems.
Deliver guest requests (irons/boards, hairdryers, rollaway beds, towels, soap, etc.) promptly and maintain a delivery log.
Retrieve all irons/boards, hairdryers, and similar items within two hours of checkout and ensure all items are accounted for at shift close.
Maintain cleanliness in housekeeping and storage areas through sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal to ensure high sanitation standards.
Report safety hazards and repair needs (e.g., frayed electrical cords, broken switches) to the Linen Room Attendant.
Empty all outside trash receptacles to keep the property free of debris; remove trash and rollaways from hallways.
Check, lock, and secure all linen closets and storage areas.
Check stairwells for debris and clean as needed.
Assist in cleaning guest rooms as required.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist the Linen Room attendant in stocking housekeeping caddies with soap, shampoo, stationary, etc.
Clean (dust, empty trash receptacles, vacuum, etc.) offices as needed.
Assume the duties and responsibilities of a Turndown Attendant, Houseperson, and/or Lobby Attendant in his/her absence.

Prerequisites:

Related repair and maintenance skills, including basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC.
Ability to troubleshoot minor issues and perform hands-on repairs as needed.

Education:

High School or Diploma in vocational level preferred

Experience:

Experience of two to three years in a related position.
