Job Title: Painter / Maintenance Assistant – Skilled Nursing Facility

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Painter / Maintenance Assistant to help maintain a safe, clean, and attractive environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. This position is responsible for interior and exterior painting, routine building maintenance, preventative maintenance tasks, and assisting with general facility repairs in a skilled nursing facility.
Prepare, patch, prime, and paint walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other interior and exterior surfaces.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to building systems, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Complete work orders promptly and efficiently.
Assist with preventative maintenance programs to ensure facility safety and compliance.
Maintain painting and maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies.
Perform basic carpentry, drywall repair, caulking, and touch-up work.
Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, hardware, and other building components as needed.
Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
Follow OSHA standards, infection control procedures, and facility safety policies.
Assist with room turnovers and preparation of resident rooms.
Respond to maintenance emergencies as directed.
Work cooperatively with department managers and other team members to minimize disruption to resident care.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
One to three years of painting and general maintenance experience required; healthcare or long-term care experience preferred.
Working knowledge of painting techniques, drywall repair, basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Must be able to pass required background checks and meet applicable health screening requirements.
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and reach overhead for extended periods.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures.
Manual dexterity to operate maintenance equipment and tools safely.
