Full Job Description

We are currently looking for someone with excellent customer service and telephone skills, ability to multi-task and exercise good judgment, flexibility, attention to detail, experience with patient scheduling, time management, word processing, professionalism, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and sense of humor. Knowledge of electronic medical records software programs, a plus, i.e. TheraOffice.

Duties:

Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Welcomes patients and visitors, either in person or on the telephone, schedules appointments; collects co-payments and apply to patient account, maintains patient records and accounts;
Verifies patient eligibility through insurance companies, and confirms prescriptions and/or referrals are received timely.
Entering of new patients into TheraOffice and follow up with insurance companies regarding authorizations as needed.
Full cycle electronic billing from claims submission to denials. Ability to promptly resolve issues with insurance companies to enable timely payments and maintain an efficient billing cycle. Familiarity with claims appeals process.
Apply all insurance payments received to patient accounts.
Monitors monthly A/R reports and works closely with the Office Manager to solve any overdue accounts; Collects delinquent accounts by establishing payment arrangements with patients, monitors payments and follows up when payment lapses occur, utilizes collection agency.
Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures. Adheres to professional standards, and protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. [Familiarity with HIPAA].

Required Experience: Minimum two years office and medical billing experience. Physical Therapy office experience a plus.

Required Education: Minimum Associate Degree. Medical Billing Certification a plus!
