Job Overview

Position is based on events scheduled. Avg hours per week will be 25 which will be a combination of event management, computer admin and organization and pre-planning for events.

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Tacolicious Catering Captain to lead our catering service team. In this role, you will be the face of our brand at events, ensuring seamless food service, exceptional guest interactions, and smooth operations. Your enthusiasm and hospitality skills will help us deliver unforgettable catering experiences that reflect our commitment to quality and community.

In addition to the full service event management above, role may also help with deliveries in and around San Francisco + support some administrative duties.

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of catering events, from setup to breakdown, ensuring timely and efficient service.
Lead event set up, presentation, and serving to uphold our high standards of quality and safety.
Coordinate with onsite event organizers and clients to confirm that events run smoothly.
Manage guest relations by providing friendly, attentive, and professional customer service throughout each event.
Supervise catering staff, including bussing tables, food handling, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures at all times.
Assist in inventory management, setup logistics, and maintaining equipment for catering operations.
Assist with administrative tasks leading up to events (menu creation, generation of picklist, pre-packing large events and order entry into Tripleseat).

Experience

Proven experience in the food industry with a focus on catering or banquet service.
Culinary experience or background in food preparation is preferred.
Strong guest services skills with a passion for hospitality and creating positive guest interactions.
Previous restaurant or hotel experience that demonstrates excellent customer service abilities.
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques.
Experience with food service operations, including bussing, serving, and setup.
