Full Job Description

Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

Department: Quality

Reports To: Director of Quality Assurance & Food Safety

Supervises: 7+ QA Technicians, 5+ Sanitation Technicians, 1+ Housekeeping Associate

Position Purpose:

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer, and company quality and food safety standards at the manufacturing facility. Collaboration with plant leadership to enhance quality practices, drive continuous improvement, and maintain a culture of food safety and operational excellence is key.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties:

Partner with plant leadership to ensure commitment to quality assurance and food safety programs.
Enhance sanitation practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Develop corrective action plans and monitor results to maintain compliance with standards.
Prepare for third-party and regulatory audits.
Integrate HACCP and FSMA principles into production processes.
Conduct analyses for customer complaints and production failures to drive improvement.
Manage Quality department budget and performance metrics.
Ensure accuracy and efficiency of all QA procedures.
Lead and develop the QA and Sanitation teams.
Act as primary contact for USDA and FDA inspections.
Manage daily laboratory activities and QA documentation.
Carry out other duties as assigned by Director of Quality Assurance & Food Safety.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Experience & Skills: Minimum 10 years of experience in the food industry, including at least 5 years in a quality management role. Certified Internal Auditor with hands-on auditing experience. Six Sigma certification a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work in a food manufacturing facility with exposure to allergens and temperature extremes. Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment:

Combination of office and manufacturing plant environments.

Travel Requirements:

Up to 10%.
