Job Posting: Head Chef / General Manager

Full-Time, Salary Position

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef/General Manager to lead our restaurant, which offers daily breakfast and lunch service along with seasonal dinner offerings. This is a unique opportunity to guide both the culinary direction and daily operations of a warm, high-quality, community-focused establishment.

Position Overview: The Head Chef/General Manager will oversee all kitchen and front-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, smooth service, and a positive, collaborative work culture. This individual will lead menu development, maintain kitchen equipment, train and support staff, and uphold standards of excellence in hospitality. We are looking for a leader who is organized, adaptable, and invested in continuous learning and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily kitchen operations and supervise all culinary and service staff
Plan and execute breakfast, lunch, and seasonal dinner menus
Ensure high-quality food preparation, presentation, and consistency
Maintain kitchen equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed
Oversee ordering, inventory management, and cost control
Train, mentor, and support staff; foster a positive and professional team culture
Monitor daily operations to ensure efficiency, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety standards
Collaborate with ownership on long-term planning, seasonal offerings, and special events
Provide exceptional customer service and model strong communication across all departments

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, Sous Chef, General Manager, or similar leadership role
Strong leadership and team-building skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities and sound judgment under pressure
Strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear direction to staff
Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute new ideas to menu planning and operations
Solid understanding of kitchen equipment, maintenance, and best practices
Experience with inventory, ordering, scheduling, and basic cost management
Passion for creating high-quality food and memorable guest experiences

Compensation

Full-time salary position, commensurate with experience
