Project Manager – Custom Manufacturing

The Role: In Person, On site Daily

You are the person who notices the missing dimension, follows up before a deadline slips and keeps everyone working from the same information.

Outshaped is looking for a highly organized Project Manager to take ownership of custom projects after the sale and guide them through final delivery.

You will:

Turn sold work into a clear, production-ready plan
Serve as the customer’s main point of contact
Keep Sales, Production and the customer aligned
Personally help move problems toward a solution instead of simply passing them to someone else

Because every project is custom, this role requires good judgment, strong follow-through and the ability to stay organized when details or timelines change.

What You’ll Own

Review sold projects and confirm the scope, use case, dimensions, materials, finishes, labor and customer expectations are complete
Enter accurate project information and keep records current
Identify missing, conflicting or assumed details before they create production problems
Confirm required files, approvals and down payment are received before work begins
Give the Production Director complete information needed to build the production schedule
Confirm project details, timelines and expectations with the customer
Send approval drawings and follow up until decisions are received
Communicate changes, revised timelines and change orders clearly
Investigate project questions by reviewing the information, walking the production floor and talking with the people doing the work
Help move problems toward a practical solution instead of simply forwarding them or assigning blame
Confirm final payment before the project is shipped or released

Raise concerns early instead of waiting for larger problems
Take ownership of the outcome even when the original problem was not yours
Ask what you can personally do to move a project forward
Want to understand how materials, methods and production decisions affect cost, quality and schedule

This Role Will Not Be a Strong Fit If You

Dislike detailed documentation or consistent follow-up
Avoid customer conversations or hesitate to ask direct questions
Wait for others to identify missing information or solve problems
See project management mainly as assigning tasks, requesting updates or forwarding information
Focus more on who caused a problem than on helping resolve it
Are not interested in understanding how custom products are made

What Success Looks Like

Projects enter production with complete and accurate information
Customers understand the scope, schedule, approvals and next steps
Production receives early notice of changes or risks
Problems are addressed before they cause rework or missed deadlines
Customers feel informed and confident from kickoff through delivery
