Full Job Description

Overview

At Synergy TMS, we combine science and compassion to help people rediscover balance, clarity, and emotional well-being. Our growing practice offers advanced treatments like Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) within a supportive and integrative wellness environment.

Synergy TMS is seeking a motivated and collaborative psychiatrist to serve as a part-time Medical Director for our growing outpatient practice in South Florida.

This opportunity may be ideal for an early-career psychiatrist, a recent psychiatry residency graduate, or a senior psychiatry resident who is eligible and authorized to perform external moonlighting and holds a full, active, and unrestricted Florida medical license.

Position Overview

The Medical Director will provide clinical leadership and oversight for our TMS program, support high-quality and compliant patient care, and collaborate with our psychiatric providers, TMS technicians, and administrative team.

Responsibilities may include:

* Providing clinical oversight of the TMS program.

* Reviewing and approving appropriate TMS treatment protocols.

* Conducting or overseeing TMS evaluations, mappings, and motor-threshold determinations, as applicable.

* Supporting treatment planning and clinical decision-making.

* Reviewing patient progress and addressing clinical concerns.

* Establishing and reviewing clinical policies, safety protocols, and quality-assurance procedures.

* Providing physician availability and on-site supervision when required by applicable payer policies or clinical circumstances.

* Supporting payer credentialing, audits, and medical-necessity reviews.

* Collaborating with nurse practitioners and other clinical team members.

* Serving as ordering, supervising, or rendering provider when appropriately licensed, credentialed, contracted, and permitted by payer requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

* MD or DO degree.

* Full, active, and unrestricted Florida medical license allowing independent medical practice.

* Current psychiatry resident in an advanced year of training, psychiatry residency graduate, or practicing psychiatrist.

* Senior residents must have written authorization from their residency program to perform external moonlighting.

* Ability to obtain and maintain professional liability insurance covering external clinical practice, TMS services, and Medical Director responsibilities.

* Ability to meet credentialing and enrollment requirements for applicable commercial and government payers.

* Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and interest in interventional psychiatry.

* Availability to provide reasonable clinical and administrative oversight.

Preferred Qualifications

* Completed or nearing completion of an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency.

* Experience or formal training in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.

* Familiarity with treatment-resistant depression, OCD, anxiety disorders, and psychopharmacology.

* Experience supervising psychiatric nurse practitioners or interdisciplinary behavioral-health teams.

* Familiarity with Medicare and commercial insurance documentation requirements.

* Interest in developing long-term expertise in interventional psychiatry.

Schedule and Compensation

* Could be a moonlighting arrangement.

* Flexible schedule based on clinical and operational needs.

* Combination of on-site and administrative responsibilities.

* Competitive monthly compensation, with additional compensation for evaluations or services beyond the agreed scope.

* Potential opportunity to expand the role after residency completion.

Important Eligibility Requirement

Applicants currently enrolled in residency must already hold a full Florida medical license permitting independent practice. A Resident Physician or Physician-in-Training registration alone does not satisfy the requirements of this position
