Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with medical software systems, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance information.
Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for healthcare providers.
Maintain accurate patient records using systems such as Meditech and Dentrix.
Process medical billing and collections, ensuring compliance with ICD-9 coding standards.
Handle incoming calls, addressing inquiries or directing them to appropriate staff members.
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations in all patient interactions and documentation.

Experience

Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
Familiarity with medical billing processes and collection practices is advantageous.
Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, specifically Meditech and Dentrix.
Knowledge of ICD-9 coding is beneficial for accurate billing and record management.
Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on patient care and satisfaction.
Excellent organizational abilities with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks.
