Job Title: Manual Machinist / CNC ProtoTRAK Machinist

Location: Trenton, NJ
Pay: $25-$40/hr DOE
Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire

About the Role

A growing industrial services company is hiring a Manual Machinist / CNC ProtoTRAK Machinist for its Trenton, NJ machine shop. This is a hands-on role for someone with strong manual machining experience and ProtoTRAK experience.

This is not a basic CNC operator or button-pusher role. The right candidate should be able to set up and operate manual machines, work from prints and sketches, make or repair precision parts, and use measuring tools to hold tolerances.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate manual milling machines, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and related machining equipment.
Program, set up, and operate ProtoTRAK CNC milling and turning machines.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and work instructions.
Manufacture new components and repair existing parts to required tolerances.
Select tooling, cutting speeds, feeds, and machining methods.
Perform first-piece and in-process inspections.
Verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, and other inspection tools.
Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to improve quality and efficiency.
Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment and work areas clean and organized.
Work with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to complete project work.

Qualifications

Manual machining experience required.
CNC ProtoTRAK experience required.
Experience setting up and operating manual mills and lathes.
Ability to read blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.
Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and indicators.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
Ability to work safely around moving machinery and equipment.
High school diploma or GED required.
Technical or vocational machining training preferred.
GD&T knowledge preferred.
Must be able to meet pre-employment requirements.
