Are you a proven mortgage leader who knows how to drive production, coach teams, and grow lending volume without losing sight of the member experience? Day Air Credit Union is seeking a Director of Mortgage Lending to lead and grow our mortgage operation while ensuring sound, compliant lending practices. This role is ideal for a growth-oriented leader who enjoys balancing mortgage production, relationship development, and operational oversight to deliver exceptional results for both members and the organization.

Your Responsibilities:

As a Director of Mortgage Lending, you will:

Lead and develop a mortgage lending team, providing coaching, accountability, and performance management for direct reports and department associates.
Drive mortgage growth by developing new referral partnerships and strengthening existing relationships with Realtors, builders, members, branch teams, and community stakeholders.
Serve as a key contributor to mortgage production efforts, helping expand market presence and increase loan volume across the organization.
Oversee the full mortgage lifecycle, including origination, processing, underwriting, closing, servicing, and secondary market activities.
Provide guidance on complex lending scenarios, working closely with team members, underwriters, and investors to keep transactions moving efficiently.
Ensure compliance with mortgage regulations, investor guidelines, internal policies, and NMLS requirements.
Monitor vendor and partner relationships to support operational efficiency, quality, and service excellence.
Support training and professional development initiatives that enhance team capability, product knowledge, and regulatory awareness.
Collaborate with executive leadership to align growth strategies, operational performance, risk management, and member service objectives.

Your Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you need:

High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
Active NMLS Registration required.
4+ years of mortgage lending experience, including exposure to origination, servicing, underwriting, or related lending functions.
3+ years of leadership, management, or supervisory experience.
Experience with residential mortgages and mortgage lending systems; familiarity with loan origination and appraisal platforms is highly valued.
Demonstrated success developing business, growing loan production, and building professional referral networks.
Strong coaching, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate complex lending concepts into clear, practical guidance.
Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while balancing growth, risk, and compliance.
Ability to work a flexible hybrid schedule, attend occasional industry events, conferences, board meetings, and community functions as needed.
