Full Job Description

Job Title: HAAS CNC Programmer / Operator

Lewark Metal Spinning is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HAAS CNC Programmer/Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating HAAS CNC machining centers to produce precision components that meet strict quality, safety, and production standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Program, set up, and operate HAAS CNC mills and/or lathes using G-code and CAM software.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and work instructions.
Select and install tooling, fixtures, and workholding equipment.
Perform machine setups, first-article inspections, and production runs.
Monitor machining operations and make real-time program or tooling adjustments to optimize cycle times and maintain part quality.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and programming issues proactively to minimize downtime.
Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in optimal working condition.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company safety procedures.
Accurately document production data, inspection results, and machine performance.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to refine manufacturing processes.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED (technical or vocational training preferred).
5+ years of hands-on experience programming and operating HAAS CNC machining centers.
Strong command of G-code programming and core CNC machining principles.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent).
Expert-level proficiency with precision measuring equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and root-cause troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Capacity to perform repetitive bending, reaching, and lifting.
Commitment to working safely around moving machinery and industrial equipment.
