Title: Part-Time Receptionist Note: This is a 2 day per week, shared position The Miami Valley School (MVS). Our mission is to challenge young people of promise to become self-sustaining learners and compassionate global citizens. Here, we learn because we do.The Role. The Receptionist attends to visitors and deals with inquiries on the phone and face to face.

Supply information regarding the school to the general public, parents and students. This position is responsible for providing secretarial, clerical and administrative support to the Business Office.The Opportunity. In your role at MVS, you will work alongside dedicated faculty and staff who have taught and learned all over the world and in a variety of school contexts. Your colleagues are artists, researchers, entrepreneurs, published authors, professional musicians, armed services veterans, and thespians. Most importantly, they are compassionate and caring educators committed to lifelong learning.And of course, you will get to make an impact! As the Receptionist, you will have an impact on the greater MVS community, in many cases by being the first impression of MVS.Primary Responsibilities: Operates multi-line telephone system answering incoming telephone calls, determining purpose of calls, and forwarding calls to appropriate community members or departmentsRetrieves messages from voice mail and forwards to appropriate community members or departmentsTakes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voicemail when appropriate personnel are unavailableAnswers questions about the school and provides callers with other informationWelcomes on-site visitors, determines the nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnelProcesses on-site visitors and vendors through the visitor management system for security purposes and issues visitor passes to all visitors and vendorsReceives queries from caregivers and the publicReceives, sorts, and routes mail to each department or divisionProcesses credit cards for payment of products or tuition/incidentalsDeposits all checks electronically utilizing a bank-provided remote deposit terminal and updates daily log of all payments received via mailProvides general administrative and clerical support to all departmentsMonitors and maintains office supplies for the front deskMaintain postage machine and order postage and suppliesOther duties as assignedQualifications: 3 years related experience, 2 or 4-year degree preferred, but not requiredStrong customer service skillsAbility to learn and enthusiasm for constant improvementExcellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to multitaskProficient in Google suite of products (Google sheets, docs, drive, calendar) or other similar softwareBenefits.
