With extensive experience across Foster Care, Outpatient Mental Health Services, Psychiatry, Intensive Home-Based Treatment, and more, we are committed to making a positive impact in the community.

Overview

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Mental Health & Support Services Provider (QMHS) to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will deliver high-quality mental health support and case management services to diverse populations, including children and families. Your expertise will help foster resilience, promote recovery, and improve overall well-being through compassionate care and community resource coordination.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Have face-to-face contact with the family within the specified timeframe.

2. Maintain respect of the individuals and families served and be supportive with the ability to recognize strengths and having sensitivity to the needs of individuals and families in crisis while being culturally and linguistically competent.

3. Attend training to increase knowledge on the following topics:

o Establishing rapport and a professional relationship with service recipients.

o Methods of engaging individuals and families.

o Special issues related to working with the identified service population.

o Coordinating services as part of a team.

o Linking service recipients and making referrals to community services.

o Knowledge of community programs and how to access services.

o Case advocacy.

o Confidentiality and professional ethics.

o Knowledge of public assistance programs, eligibility requirements, and benefits.

4. Employee workloads support the achievement of all youth outcomes, are regularly reviewed, and are based on an assessment of the following (a typical caseload is between 5 and 15 clients):

o Qualifications, competencies, and experience of the worker, including the level of supervision needed.

o Work and time required to accomplish assigned tasks and job responsibilities.

o Service volume, accounting for assessed level of needs of new and current clients and referrals.

5. Provide the youth and/or families with educational and skill-building activities.

6. Interact and act as a liaison between the school, family members, referring agency, and other involved agencies, with regard to appropriate services; coordinate family meetings.

7. Assist in securing specialized services and implementation of such services.

8. Provide crisis management – on-call 24/7/365.

9. Provide ongoing contact with youth and/or family in accordance with services provided and as dictated by contract and developed service plan.

10. Provide individual, family, and group counseling as needed when within the scope of the worker’s license, education, and skill set. Counseling may include, but is not limited to, social services, vocational, employment, and educational services.

11. Review the progress of each referral by written report and completion of appropriate documentation. Complete a final termination report and submit it along with an after-care plan.

12. Assist in determining the appropriateness of referrals for services.

13. Complete a specified amount of face-to-face activities, non-face-to-face activities, and documentation in accordance to the expectations of the contract or guidelines set forth.

14. Attend staff meetings (once a month-dept and all staff), two meetings a month.

15. Schedule and attend supervision (frequency varies, minimum of one time per month).

16. Attend all mandatory training required to satisfy company and licensure requirements (CEUs, agency-specified, COA needed or required by clinical department).

17. Support new team members with job shadowing opportunities.

18. Demonstrate an understanding and cultural sensitivity for diverse populations.

19. Monitor and satisfy weekly productivity goals, proactively escalating impediments to meeting goals.

Qualifications An example of acceptable qualifications (at least one of the following):

Must possess a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in social services or a related field. Must meet requirements to be classified as a Qualified Mental Health Specialist which include but are not limited to; understanding of mental illness, psychiatric symptoms, and impact on functioning and behavior; how to therapeutically engage a mentally ill person; concepts of recovery/resiliency; crisis response procedures; an understanding of the community mental health system; de-escalation techniques and understanding how his/her behavior can impact the behavior of individuals with mental illness.

Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
