Full Job Description

Job Overview

The Director of Finance will provide financial leadership for a private equity–backed manufacturing organization with oversight of multiple legal entities and operating companies. This role is responsible for financial reporting, accounting integrity, forecasting, cash flow management, internal controls, and performance analysis while serving as a key business partner to executive and operational leadership.

The successful candidate must be an active CPA with strong financial leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. The ideal candidate combines technical accounting expertise with a hands-on, commercially focused approach and is comfortable working with executive leadership, private equity ownership, auditors, lenders, and operating teams.

Duties

Multi-Entity Financial Leadership: Oversee accounting and finance activities across multiple organizations, ensuring consistent processes, controls, policies, and reporting standards.
Financial Reporting: Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; ensure accurate and timely financial statements; maintain U.S. GAAP compliance and balance sheet integrity.
Private Equity Reporting: Serve as a primary finance contact for the private equity sponsor and Board. Prepare investor reporting, KPIs, forecasts, and analysis, clearly explaining financial performance and key business drivers.
FP&A & Business Partnership: Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis. Provide actionable insights to improve profitability, EBITDA, and enterprise value.
Manufacturing Finance: Partner with operations to analyze manufacturing costs, labor, materials, overhead, inventory, production variances, product/customer profitability, and opportunities for margin improvement.
Cash Flow & Working Capital: Develop cash flow forecasts and drive improvements in inventory, receivables, payables, working capital, and cash conversion.
M&A & Growth: Support acquisition due diligence, financial analysis, and integration of acquired businesses, including implementation of consistent accounting and reporting processes.
Controls & Process Improvement: Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, systems, and reporting processes while identifying opportunities for automation and increased efficiency.
Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting and finance team while establishing a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Active CPA license required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Progressive finance and accounting leadership experience with multi-entity oversight.
Strong U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls expertise.
Manufacturing/industrial finance experience strongly preferred.
Private equity-backed company experience highly preferred.
Experience with standard costing, inventory, M&A, and ERP systems preferred.
Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and financial modeling skills.
