Full Job Description

Miller Industries/SHC is seeking to fill the position of skilled CNC Machine Operator for our night shift. This position is based in our SHC Athens, Tennessee subsidiary manufacturing facility and is a part of our Machine Shop department. Operator may set up and operate various CNC machines as company needs require.

**ADDITIONAL SHIFT PREMIUM PAY FOR NIGHT SHIFT**

Schedule Hours: 10-hour NIGHT SHIFT, 8:30pm-7:00am, Sunday-Wednesday, some overtime possible. While training, employee will be expected to work 10-hour DAY SHIFT, Monday-Thursday.

Skills assessment testing will be performed during the interview process. Background Check and Pre-employment Drug Screening will be required.

Position Summary:

Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, drill presses, lasers, lathes, and mills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc

· Ensure working environment is clean and safe

· Verify specifications

· Read parts list

· Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.

· Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.

· Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines

· Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result

· Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly

Education and/or Experience

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools; experience running mills is required.

· Must be able to utilize various measuring devices, interpret blueprints and use shop math is needed due to the technological needs of many fabrication parts.

· A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Occasionally required to work four 12-hour days, up to 5 days consecutively as business demands.
Ability to wear protective gear due to fumes or airborne particles.
Ability to frequently be exposed to flashing lights.
Must occasionally be exposed to weather conditions, including precipitation, extreme cold and extreme heat.
Regularly required to wear hearing protection in a loud environment.
