POSITION GOAL
To provide technical services that create a safe environment for all students and employees of Volusia County Schools
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. *Work hours and locations will change as the need arises. Perform all duties according to scheduled hours and locations as assigned.
2. *Assure the safety of children comes first.
3. *Abide by all security procedures.
4. *Represent Volusia County School Board (VCSB) and the Department with a positive and professional service oriented demeanor.
5. *Coordinate with Project Managers and oversee the design of new keying systems and the installation of lock hardware for all newly constructed schools.
6. *Work as part of a team by establishing and maintaining working relationships that foster efficiency, productivity, quality results and promotes cooperation with administrators, fellow employees, students, faculty and the public.
7. *Document all work using appropriate key coding logs and required reports.
8. *Assist in coordination of portable classroom re-keying to ensure their inclusion in school key management programs.
9. *Coordinate with lock hardware manufacturing companies to ensure timely delivery and accountability for all new lock hardware and key blanks.
10. *Ensure re-keying work complies with school key management programs.
11. *Perform all types of locksmith duties, including installation, replacement, re-keying, key cutting and emergency entry.
12. *Review sites and create material and labor estimates.
13. *Assist in the planning and implementation of preventive maintenance procedures.
14. *Manage accountability for all locking hardware and key blank inventories.
15. *Coordinate any permitting necessary in performance of duties.
16. *Inspect lock and door hardware installation for quality of work.
17. *Maintain inventory and ordering, including replacement schedules as required.
18. *Maintain accurate truck inventory and all related lists/ forms for each job as needed for maintenance operations.
19. *Receive shipments of orders as needed.
20. *Coordinate emergency repair work as needed.
21. *Responsible for equipment, tools and repair parts, including submitting purchase orders.
22. *Communicate verbally and in writing as assigned.
23. *Check and maintain assigned equipment on a daily basis.
24. *Report any damage/dangerous or hazardous situations related to work orders, equipment or vehicles to supervisor.
25. *Maintain a clean orderly work environment, which includes the service truck and all equipment.
26. *Abide by safety rules/ standards when using tools and equipment, which includes wearing required safety equipment and compliance with Occupation Safety and Health Act (OSHA) requirements.
27. *Wear provided designated departmental uniform.
28. *Attend and/ or conduct cross-training sessions with others in the Division and apply skills/ knowledge obtained.
29. *Respond during times of disaster/emergency.
30. *Operate school board vehicles, when assigned, in accordance with operational procedures and School Board Policy 505.
31. *Provide personal tools as required, to perform assigned work.
32. *Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisors, Multi-Trades
