POSITION OVERVIEW
Schultz Engineered Products is seeking an experienced, hands-on CNC Programmer/Machinist to support our manufacturing operations.
We are looking for someone who can take a part from print to production—interpreting drawings, determining the machining approach, creating or modifying CNC programs, setting up machines, producing the part, and verifying that the finished component meets specifications.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable programming and working on the shop floor and brings a practical, solutions-oriented approach to machining and manufacturing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine machining requirements.
· Design and program CNC machining operations using CAD/CAM software.
· Develop machining strategies and create CAM programs for new and existing parts.
· Set up CNC machines, including tooling, workholding, offsets and raw materials.
· Perform test runs and first-piece verification before moving parts into production.
· Operate CNC equipment to manufacture components from print through finished production.
· Read, interpret and troubleshoot G-code and make program adjustments when necessary.
· Modify and optimize existing CNC programs to improve efficiency, quality and repeatability.
· Inspect finished components using precision measuring tools to verify conformance with drawings and specifications.
· Create, organize and maintain CNC programs, setup information and related manufacturing documentation.
· Troubleshoot machining, programming and equipment issues and perform minor machine maintenance or repairs as appropriate.
· Assist in the development of new products, including concept development, prototyping, CAD modeling, machining strategies, process development and implementation into production.
· Provide practical input on manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and quality.
· Assist with fabrication, mechanical and other shop projects as needed.
· Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment and follow established safety procedures.
· Perform other duties as needed to support manufacturing operations.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
· Demonstrated CNC programming and machining experience.
· Ability to manufacture a component from print to production, including programming, setup, machining and inspection.
· Experience with CAM software and developing machining programs from engineering drawings or models.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and dimensional requirements.
· Ability to read, interpret and modify G-code.
· Familiarity with manual CNC programming.
· Experience setting up CNC machines, tooling, workholding and offsets.
· Proficiency with Haas and Mazak controls preferred.
· Experience using precision measuring and inspection tools.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and practical understanding of machining and manufacturing processes.
· Ability to troubleshoot machining and programming issues and develop practical solutions.
· Experience with custom manufacturing, prototyping or low-volume production is a plus.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
