Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room (Nights) - North Walton Doctors Hospital
Job Summary: North Walton Doctors Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Shift Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care in fast-paced and dynamic critical care environments of both the ER and Clinical Decision Unit (CDU). The RN in will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care within the scope of nursing practice.
Compensation:
Base salary depends on experience. Shift differential for Monday-Friday nights, and Weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Float as needed between the ER and CDU.
- Conduct initial patient assessments upon arrival, triage patients based on acuity, and prioritize care accordingly.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Monitor and record patient progress, vital signs, and symptoms; report changes or concerns to the attending physician promptly.
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies and provide immediate and appropriate interventions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care plans.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors while contributing to the customer centered culture of NWDH.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in the state of Florida.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
- A minimum of 1 year ER experience is required.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Current PALS certification or obtained certification within 90 days of hire.
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations.
