Due to consistent growth, Trinks Inc currently has an opening for a Senior Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing team in De Pere, WI. This role is for a highly experienced mechanical/hydraulic assembler who, alongside hands-on assembly work, helps coordinate the build schedule and checks the quality of finished assemblies within the mechanical cell. This position reports directly to the Production Manager.
Job Description/Duties
Performs the installation of mechanical equipment. Duties could include assisting electricians with installing cable trays, pulling cable and wires, and running conduit. Main duties include working with the mechanical team to complete component assemblies, hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies, frame assembly, and much more. Hours for this position are Monday thru Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, with any overtime done on Friday when needed.
· Mechanical assembly of machines and components as specified per print
· Knowledge and understanding of the functions of standard hydraulic/pneumatic components
· Layout, assemble and install hydraulic components as specified per print
· Determine proper tubing sizes from circuit specification
· Fabricate and install hydraulic tubing, fittings, and valves
Additional Responsibilities
· Perform in-process quality checks on mechanical and hydraulic assemblies prior to sign-off
· Help coordinate daily and weekly work assignments and schedule priorities within the mechanical cell, as directed by the Production Manager
· Serve as a go-to resource on the floor for mechanical assembly questions and troubleshooting
· Flag schedule risks, quality issues, or material shortages to the Production Manager
· Model safety and quality standards in day-to-day work
· Help train other mechanical assemblers as the team grows
Job Requirements
· Blueprint skills required
· Extensive experience (5+ years) in mechanical/hydraulic assembly in an industrial or OEM setting
· Good troubleshooting ability, manual dexterity
· Experience building from prints/solid models
· Strong mechanical skills
· Must be able to perform the job functions, including climbing ladders and working with aerial platforms when needed
· Quality-conscious individual with good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
· Position requires a team player who is quality-conscious and detail-oriented
· Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
· Ability to lift 50 lbs.
· Experience with shop tools and have your own set of tools with a toolbox
· Good attendance required
· Experience with industrial equipment preferred
· Knowledge of electrical assembly preferred
· Tube bending/running a plus
Experience Preferred but Not Required:
· Previous experience in an OEM facility
· Experience training or mentoring other assemblers
· Associate’s degree in Electro/Mechanical Technology, or equivalent
· Rigging/heavy component moving
· Understanding of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems a plus
