Great Lakes Furniture Supply is looking for an experienced, relationship driven Senior Sales Representative who lives in the Detroit Metro area and is excited to grow our presence throughout the region.

This is not a sit behind a desk sales role. We are looking for someone who knows the Detroit Metro community, enjoys getting out and building relationships, and can turn connections and conversations into long term partnerships.

We especially value candidates who are already connected within the communities we serve and have established relationships in the Detroit Metro area, particularly within Michigan K–12 education, architecture, design, construction, facilities, commercial interiors, or related industries.

As our Senior Sales Representative, you will help expand Great Lakes Furniture Supply’s presence throughout Detroit Metro by developing new business and building lasting customer relationships.

You will:

Build and maintain relationships with K–12 district leaders, key decision makers, facilities professionals, architects, designers, construction partners, and other community and industry stakeholders.
Develop new business through your existing network, prospecting, referrals, community involvement, industry relationships, events, and other business development activities.
Identify customer needs and develop sales opportunities from the first conversation through receipt of the Purchase Order.
Maintain an active presence in the Detroit Metro market and the professional communities we serve.
Collaborate closely with our Sales team, Communications and Marketing, Project Managers, and Installation Manager to create a seamless customer experience.
Work with Project Management to develop furniture solutions, layouts, renderings, pricing, proposals, and presentations that meet customer needs.
Maintain strong customer relationships after the sale to support retention, referrals, and future opportunities.
Independently manage your territory, schedule, customer follow up, pipeline, and priorities while staying connected and accountable to the broader team.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who brings both sales ability and strong Detroit Metro relationships to the role.

Our ideal candidate:

Resides in the Detroit Metro area.
Has 3 or more years of sales, business development, account management, or related experience, preferably within K–12 education, architecture, design, construction, facilities, commercial interiors, or a related industry.
Has established relationships and professional connections within the Detroit Metro market, particularly with K–12 district leaders, facilities professionals, architects, designers, construction partners, or other relevant decision makers.
Has demonstrated sales experience and knows how to develop relationships into meaningful business opportunities.
Is comfortable prospecting, networking, presenting, negotiating, and managing opportunities throughout the sales cycle.
Is highly self motivated, disciplined, organized, and accountable.
Thrives working independently in a remote, field based role without needing close day to day supervision.
Is also a strong collaborator who enjoys working across teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Is comfortable regularly traveling throughout the Detroit Metro area, with occasional travel to our Holland office and other locations as needed.

You will have independence in how you manage your territory and relationships, but you will not be doing it alone. You will be supported by an experienced team across Sales, Communications and Marketing, Project Management, and Installation who work together to take an opportunity from the initial conversation through a successful project. We are looking for someone who wants to become a trusted partner to our customers, not simply make a sale.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
