Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a CVOR RN Travel Nurse, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional cardiovascular surgical care in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art operating environment. This exciting opportunity allows you to utilize your specialized skills in cardiovascular operating room nursing while exploring diverse clinical settings across various locations. As a CVOR RN Travel Nurse, you will be at the forefront of patient care, supporting complex procedures such as cardiac surgeries, vascular interventions, and trauma cases. Your expertise will help ensure optimal patient outcomes through meticulous perioperative management and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Duties

Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing cardiovascular surgeries, including cardiac catheterization, valve replacements, bypass procedures, and thoracic surgeries.
Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all necessary equipment, supplies, and sterile techniques are maintained for safe surgical procedures.
Monitor patients’ vital signs, anesthesia levels, and physiological responses throughout surgical interventions using advanced EMR/EHR systems.
Assist surgeons with sterile procedures such as suturing, catheterization, and ostomy care while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Manage intraoperative emergencies including acute pain management, airway management, ventilator support, and rapid response to trauma or critical events.
Document all patient care activities accurately in medical records following HIPAA regulations and hospital standards.
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgical teams, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient safety and procedural success.

Qualifications

Valid MI RN license with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Proven experience working in cardiovascular operating rooms (CVOR), Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred.
Strong knowledge of cardiac physiology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and medical terminology related to cardiothoracic surgery.
Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and patient tracking.
Skilled in sterile processing, catheterization techniques, IV infusion therapy, and ventilator management.
Familiarity with infection control practices including aseptic technique and laboratory specimen collection/processing.
Ability to adapt quickly to new environments while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
