Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Seamstress Tailor Sewist Alterations Specialist to join our dynamic fashion retail team. In this role, you will bring garments to life through expert sewing, tailoring, and alterations, ensuring each customer leaves with a perfect fit and a smile. Your craftsmanship will enhance our customers’ confidence and style, making their experience memorable. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your sewing expertise while delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, fashion-forward environment.

Responsibilities

Perform precise alterations and repairs on a variety of garments, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing clothing items.
Use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to construct or modify garments according to specifications.
Consult with customers to understand their needs, provide professional advice on alterations, and ensure satisfaction with the final product.
Maintain high standards of garment construction, paying close attention to detail for quality and durability.
Manage multiple projects efficiently while adhering to deadlines and quality standards.
Keep work areas organized and ensure all sewing tools and equipment are properly maintained for optimal performance.
Collaborate with team members to improve processes and uphold the store’s reputation for excellent craftsmanship.

Skills

Proven experience in sewing, garment construction, and performing clothing alterations.
Proficiency with sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques.
Strong understanding of fashion retail environments and customer service principles.
Ability to interpret clothing measurements accurately using basic math skills.
Knowledge of fabric types, garment fitting, and tailoring best practices.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
Attention to detail, precision, and a passion for quality craftsmanship.
