Full Job Description

Certified Nursing Assistant / Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech)
Location: Gailey Eye Surgery Center
Schedule: 3 Days/Week (Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday)

Are you looking to join a dedicated, friendly team in a fast-paced outpatient surgical setting? We’re hiring a CNA/Scrub Tech to support our ophthalmology surgery center and help deliver exceptional patient care.

Position Summary

The Scrub Tech plays a vital role in supporting our surgical team by providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing outpatient eye procedures. This position involves collaboration with physicians, RNs, CRNAs, administrative staff, and other team members to ensure smooth, efficient surgical care from pre-op through post-op. Success in this role requires flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare surgical suites, including supply setup and instrument readiness
Assist with patient preparation and/or discharge (vitals, gowning, comfort care)
Support intraoperative care under RN and physician supervision
Assist surgeons during surgical procedures
Turn over and clean ORs; clean and sterilize instruments
Provide postoperative support and monitor patient needs
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and special projects
Help train and orient new staff; validate competencies

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Surgical Technologist certification (preferred)
CPR certification (preferred)
Experience in ophthalmology, surgery, or an ASC setting (preferred)
Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform essential physical tasks
Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills

The starting range for this position is $20.00 - $23.22/hr, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications as well as market considerations.
