Sand Blaster/Paint Room Associate
Full Time, Non-Exempt
Day Shift – OT and Saturdays required upon need
Pay based upon Experience
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for preparing fabricated parts for paint including sandblasting preparation. This position works closely with other team members that rely upon one another to meet high quality standards. Accuracy and detail oriented are a must in this position.
Essential Functions:
- Remove dirt, paint, grease, and other built-up material from metal surfaces.
- Stage parts, hang and handle material.
- Utilize lift assist for heavier parts while loading and unloading parts.
- Apply powder primers & powder coating finishes.
- Inspect finished product to ensure quality standards.
- Assist in cleaning and maintenance of equipment daily. Reads and follows plans, material lists and guidelines and applies necessary timelines.
- Manipulate parts so that all applicable surface are able to be blasted either manually, using a crane, or using a forklift.
- Set up and operate a blast equipment
- Load and unload the blast cabinet
- Assist with painting or coating as needed
Job Qualifications:
· Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
· Familiar with spray and polymer applicators, powder coating systems, and industry best practices preferred.
· Frequently lifts as much as 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. from floor, overhead, and waist level.
· Ability to twist or bend at waist and ability to stoop or bend to perform work, to inspect work, or to pick up an object
· Mobility in wrists, arms and elbows sufficient to wipe or polish a surface
· Stamina to work 8 hours per day with occasional overtime required
· No restrictions that would prevent the use of personal safety gear including safety glasses, dust mask, safety gloves, steel toe work shoes

· Detail oriented while working under pressure: Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task while under stressful situations.
· Adaptability: Ability to quickly recover from, and/or adjust to change and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
· Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation.
· Ability to focus on quality of material, productivity, and safety.
· Skills in organization, prioritization, and attention to detail are a must.
Requirements:
- 1 to 2 years previous sandblasting experience
- High school degree or GED
- The ability to wear a blasting hood with an approximate weight of 4 pounds during sandblasting
· Maintain regular and timely attendance.
