Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining accurate specimen documentation. This role is essential in supporting diagnostic processes and providing excellent patient care within a clinical or hospital setting. Prior laboratory or clinical experience is preferred, along with strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology. The position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where precision and professionalism are paramount. Experience and Serious Inquires Only.

Duties

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling using proper aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and sample integrity
Collect, label, and process specimens accurately according to laboratory procedures
Obtain vital signs and assess patient condition prior to specimen collection
Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort
Maintain proper documentation of all collected specimens and patient interactions
Follow infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment during specimen collection
Assist with specimen processing, storage, and transportation to the laboratory
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Support patient care activities by demonstrating professionalism and empathy during interactions

Skills

Proficiency in laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen collection / processing
Strong knowledge of phlebotomy, venipuncture, blood sampling, and vital signs measurement
Familiarity with clinical laboratory practices and hospital experience preferred
Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively using medical terminology
Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques necessary for safe blood collection
Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments while maintaining attention to detail
Experience with laboratory techniques related to blood sampling and specimen handling is highly desirable
