Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Independent Wedding & Event Facility Sales Consultant to generate and secure wedding bookings for our venue. This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity and is strictly commission-based.The Consultant will be responsible for independently generating leads, cultivating relationships, conducting venue tours, closing contracts, planning the wedding detail process and being onsite on wedding day to coordinate the event. This role is best suited for a self-directed sales professional who thrives in a performance-based environment and is comfortable building their own book of business.
Contractor RelationshipThis position is classified as an Independent Contractor (1099). The Consultant:
- Is not an employee of the company
- Is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and business expenses
- Sets their own schedule, within reasonable availability for client tours and meetings
- Uses their own methods and strategies to generate leads and secure bookings
- Will not receive base salary, hourly wages, benefits, or expense reimbursement (unless otherwise agreed in writing)
Compensation
- 100% commission on booked and collected event revenue
- Commission percentage to be outlined in Independent Contractor Agreement
- No cap on earnings
- Payment issued according to terms defined in contractor agreement
Scope of ServicesLead Generation & Business Development
- Independently source and generate new wedding and event leads
- Network with planners, vendors, and industry professionals
- Attend bridal shows or networking events
- Develop and implement personal sales strategies
Sales, Booking, Planning and Event Day
- Conduct virtual and in-person venue tours
- Present pricing, packages, and venue offerings
- Prepare proposals and negotiate terms within approved pricing guidelines
- Secure signed contracts and deposits
- Meet agreed-upon booking goals
- Organize, Coordinate and Manage all aspects of wedding details to ensure the event runs smoothly
- Onsite for the Wedding Day to coordinate the event
Brand Representation
- Represent the venue professionally and ethically
- Maintain high standards of communication and client service
- Coordinate transition of booked clients to internal operations or coordination team
Qualifications
- Proven sales experience (wedding, event, venue, hospitality, or related industry preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to generate leads and close business independently
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Professional demeanor and presentation skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for tours
- Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset
