Job Summary

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/ Phlebotomist at our state-of-the-art Cell Center! In this vital role, you will be the frontline ambassador for patient care, expertly collecting blood samples and performing vital assessments to support accurate diagnostics and treatment. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure a seamless patient experience while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. You will also answer calls in our call center, this paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced medical environment, contributing directly to patient health outcomes and advancing your career in healthcare.

Duties

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision, ensuring patient comfort and sample integrity
Collect and document vital signs, medical histories, and other essential patient information accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems
Prepare patients for procedures by explaining processes clearly, answering questions, and providing compassionate support
Manage patient intake processes efficiently, including verifying insurance information and updating medical records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
Assist with specimen processing, labeling, and transportation to laboratories while adhering to safety protocols
Support medical staff with basic clinical tasks such as administering medications under supervision, monitoring patient responses, and recording observations
Maintain a clean, organized work environment in compliance with infection control standards and hospital policies

Experience

Proven experience in phlebotomy within hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or urgent care settings
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology essential for accurate specimen collection and patient assessment
Familiarity with EMR/EHR management systems for documentation and data entry
Prior inpatient or hospital experience preferred, especially within Level I or Level II trauma centers or emergency medicine environments
Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics (PICU), or surgical patients is advantageous
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ICD coding or X-ray operation are a plus
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
