Key Responsibilities
As an Underground Miner, you will:
- Safely operate mining and mobile equipment according to training and manufacturer guidelines
- Follow all MSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Conduct pre-shift inspections of equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and basic servicing of equipment
- Identify and report repair needs to supervisors
- Maintain clean and orderly equipment and work areas
- Support workplace safety and environmental initiatives
- Complete required daily inspections and reports
- Perform assigned mining and quarry-related duties with minimal supervision
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding equipment movement and site conditions
What We're Looking For
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous underground mining experience strongly preferred
- Experience working on a mine site preferred
- Working knowledge of heavy construction or mining equipment
Skills & Abilities
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
- Self-motivated with a positive work ethic
- Ability to follow written work plans and prioritize tasks
- Ability to read equipment operating manuals
- Ability to interpret gauges and complete inspection reports
- Effective communication skills
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to:
- Work 10-hour shifts and overtime as needed
- Work up to six days per week when required
- Climb on and off mining equipment safely
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Sit for extended periods while operating equipment
- Work at various heights
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Working Conditions
This position is based entirely within a quarry and underground mining environment. Employees must be able to work in varying weather and site conditions while adhering to strict safety standards.
Additional Requirements
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as operational needs require
- Must demonstrate a commitment to safe work practices at all times
