POSITION SUMMARY
The role of the nurse in Cardiac Stress testing includes professional patient care of the cardiac patient and performing procedures including exercise and pharmacological cardiac stress testing with and without nuclear imaging and echocardiography.

Education/Licensure/Certification or credentials

Required:

Be a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
Current unencumbered Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois.
BSN preferred.
Has maintained 20 continuing education hours over a two year period as required by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation for licensure.
BLS, ACLS required.

Preferred:

PALS

Skill/Experience/Competency

Minimum of two years’ experience in a hospital based cardiac, critical care or emergency department setting.
Prior experience reading EKG’s and previous stress testing experience preferred.
Computer proficiency .
EMR- EPIC- preferred

Documentation skills
Verbal communication
Patient services
Teamwork
Use of medical technologies
Bedside manner
Dependability
Health promotion and maintenance
Train department personnel.

Physical Demands

The ideal candidate must be able to work and complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Constant standing and walking
Medium Lifting, generally lifting not more than 50 lbs. maximum with assistance, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
