About the Food Bank of Delaware
The mission of the Food Bank of Delaware is to provide nutritious foods to Delawareans in need and facilitate long-term solutions to the problems of hunger and poverty through community education and advocacy.
The Food Bank’s team is dedicated to building community awareness and creating an efficient food distribution network to eliminate hunger in Delaware. Over the last 40 years, the Food Bank has expanded its scope of services building on partnerships with hunger-relief organizations while at the same time bringing new programs and services to alleviate hunger and provide education and training. With locations in both Newark and Milford, the Food Bank, a member of Feeding America, will continue to expand and extend its programs and services to communities in its quest to create a community free of hunger.
Position Summary
The Home Delivery Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of the routing, reporting, customer service, and execution of the Food Bank of Delaware’s Home Delivery program. This role includes providing increased access to food assistance for underserved and vulnerable communities throughout Delaware who have barriers that forbid them from reaching mobile pantries, Healthy Pantry Center, and pop-up distributions, and other distribution opportunities. This position has the opportunity to work remotely and will be expected on site and travel to both locations multiple times per month.
Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Primary contact for all individuals seeking information on the home delivery program; including verbal, electronic or written correspondence.
- Assist with maintaining a safe and respectful environment for assistance to neighbors.
- Collaborate with both Newark and Milford Operations and Volunteer teams to ensure a proper monthly distribution.
- Collaborate with Production Coordinator to produce the necessary number of monthly packages to be packed and/or relabeled for distribution in a food-safe, timely and efficient manner.
- Assist with ensuring home delivery orders leave the facility in a timely manner.
- Track, initiate, and oversee monthly distributions through the Amazon web portal and in person.
- Maintain positive partnerships with third party delivery providers such as Amazon or other affiliated partners.
- Manage accurate data for home delivery programs to provide reports and metrics to be used for grants and program outcomes.
- Ensure appropriate paperwork and security practices are in place to maintain and track client information accurately, reporting all progress and project outcomes as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent; degree preferred but not required.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must have very strong initiative.
- Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills required with experience communicating with individuals from many different backgrounds and cultures.
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, maintenance instructions and other documentation.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where specific or only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule forms.
- Ability to obtain certification to operate necessary warehouse equipment.
- Must consistently demonstrate professionalism in both attitude and appearance. Ability to establish a working relationship with members of the public.

Physical Requirements
- Working at a computer workstation, generally with a monitor, will be required
- Occasional exposure to warehouse environments and operation of warehouse equipment
- Protective equipment must be worn when and where required.
- All roles may require sitting, bending, lifting (up to 30 pounds), squatting and other minimal physical activity.
