Job Overview: Part-Time Bookkeeper
Organization: Lewes Senior Activity Center (LSAC)

Location: Lewes, Delaware
Position Overview: The Lewes Senior Activity Center (LSAC) is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and reliable Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial operations. In this role, you will oversee accounts payable, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, weekly revenue tracking, and year-end reporting. You will work closely with the Executive Director, Board Treasurer, and external CPA firm to ensure financial integrity, compliance, and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable & Expense Management
- Oversee vendor payments, expense reimbursements, and credit card reconciliations; obtain proper approvals and maintain secure, organized physical and digital records.
Banking & Financial Reconciliation
- Oversee online and manual checkbooks across financial institutions, complete monthly account reconciliations, and ensure bank signatory records remain up to date.
Payroll Processing
- Manage bi-weekly payroll, timesheets, and direct deposits; sync all liability data to QuickBooks and coordinate with the payroll vendor on monthly/quarterly tax filings.
Revenue Tracking & Cash Management
- Reconcile weekly departmental income with the Board Treasurer, prepare bank deposits, and accurately log general ledger revenue entries in QuickBooks.
Financial Reporting & Year-End Audit Support
- Produce monthly QuickBooks financial statements for leadership, support the annual budget process, and package year-end records for CPA tax preparation and compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administration experience.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, payroll software (Check Writer or similar), and online banking platforms.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of general ledger accounts, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll tax reporting.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent math and verification skills with a commitment to high accuracy.
- Discretion: Ability to handle sensitive financial records, passwords, and employee data with strict confidentiality.
- Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively with team coordinators, Board members, executive leadership, and outside vendors.
