Join a Leader in Power Generation

SkySource Solutions is seeking an experienced Power Plant Construction Training Manager to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of technical training, certification, and competency programs supporting large-scale power plant construction projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for a construction professional with extensive experience in power plant construction, field operations, and workforce development. The successful candidate will help develop the next generation of Technical Field Advisors and construction professionals by creating impactful training programs that support safe and successful project execution.

Key ResponsibilitiesTraining & Workforce Development

Lead the Construction Training & Certification Program for field construction personnel and Technical Field Advisors.
Develop and maintain comprehensive technical training curricula and certification programs.
Create and administer competency assessment programs and skills matrices.
Identify workforce skill gaps and develop targeted training solutions.
Support onboarding, career development, and succession planning initiatives.

Curriculum Development

Develop and maintain training programs covering:

Gas turbine installation and erection
Steam turbine installation and erection
Generator installation and alignment
Mechanical equipment installation
Industrial piping systems
Electrical systems and controls
Instrumentation and control systems
Auxiliary equipment installation
Pre-commissioning and cold commissioning activities
Construction procedures, standards, and best practices

Training Delivery

Design and deliver classroom, virtual, and field-based training programs.
Develop lesson plans, training manuals, work instructions, SOPs, and qualification standards.
Conduct technical workshops, certification reviews, and competency evaluations.
Serve as a subject matter expert supporting field teams and construction leadership.

Reporting & Technology

Maintain training and certification records through Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Utilize Power BI and reporting tools to analyze workforce readiness and training effectiveness.
Leverage Microsoft 365 and SharePoint to support collaboration, reporting, and knowledge management.
Drive continuous improvement through data-driven training initiatives.

Collaboration

Partner with Construction, Engineering, Quality, EHS, and Commissioning teams to align training programs with business and project objectives.
Promote a culture of safety, operational excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 10 years of experience in power plant construction, EPC projects, field engineering, commissioning, or heavy industrial construction.
Strong knowledge of:
Gas turbines
Steam turbines
Generators
Mechanical installation and erection
Industrial piping systems
Electrical systems and controls
Instrumentation systems
Pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to develop technical content and translate field experience into effective training programs.

Technical Skills

Advanced proficiency with:
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Word
Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft 365
SharePoint
Power BI
Experience utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing and delivering technical training programs.
Curriculum development and instructional design experience.
Experience creating certification and competency-based training programs.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
Experience using Microsoft Copilot.
Experience supporting global construction or EPC projects.
Bilingual or multilingual candidates are strongly preferred. Fluency in Portuguese, Japanese, or Spanish is highly desirable.

Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel to active power plant construction sites throughout North America and internationally.
Conduct field observations, training delivery, competency assessments, and workforce development activities at project sites.
Comfortable working in industrial and construction environments.
Valid driver's license required.
Valid passport required.
