JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Laser Scanner Operator/CMM Operator/Quality Inspector

Employment Status: Full-Time

Department: Quality

Position Reports To: Quality Supervisor

Essential Functions:

Inspect tooling and manufactured parts using a laser scanning arm (Polyworks software), a coordinate measuring machine (PC-DMIS software), and other measuring tools such as a height gauge or calipers.
Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
Determine part inspection requirements from customer’s blueprint and specifications
Knowledge of GD&T
Perform inspections using Romer arms/laser tracker
Operate any type of CMM equipment as required
Ability to create and analyze reports to determine the next steps in the process
Complete visual inspections on castings
Test and troubleshoot inspection hardware
Responsible for ensuring that AS9000, ISO 9001, and QS9000 are implemented and adhered to in your area
Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned

Skills or Experience Required:

Must have High School diploma or GED. Must have strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work with others towards the resolution of problems. Experience in operating CMM/laser scanning equipment is a plus, but training can be done on-site.

Must have the ability to -

Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and/or government regulations
Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
Proficient in reading/interpreting engineering drawings (blueprints)

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Must have the ability to -

Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry

REASONING SKILLS:

Must have the ability to -

Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
