About ProVision Electric
ProVision Electric is a growing commercial, industrial, and residential electrical contractor based in Denison, Texas. Our reputation is built on quality workmanship, professionalism, and strong customer relationships. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator / Preconstruction Specialist to help increase our bidding capacity and play a key role in our long-term success.
This position is ideal for someone with real-world electrical experience who enjoys estimating and wants the flexibility of working remotely while helping build an expanding electrical contractor.
Position Summary
The Electrical Estimator / Preconstruction Specialist will prepare accurate, competitive estimates for commercial, industrial, and select residential electrical projects.
We're looking for someone who can confidently analyze plans and specifications, perform detailed material takeoffs, communicate with suppliers and vendors, and produce organized, professional bid packages with minimal supervision.
This is not an entry-level estimating position. We are seeking someone with both field experience and proven estimating experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Prepare accurate labor and material cost estimates while maintaining target profit margins.
- Download and organize project plans and specifications
- Perform detailed electrical material takeoffs
- Review project addenda and incorporate changes into estimates
- Solicit pricing from electrical distributors, manufacturers, and vendors
- Coordinate subcontractor quotations when applicable
- Build complete electrical estimates using Microsoft Excel and Trimble Accubid (preferred)
- Assemble professional proposals for customer submission
- Maintain and improve company estimating spreadsheets and pricing databases
- Track bid due dates and maintain the company bid log
- Follow up on submitted proposals and outstanding bids
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives
- Maintain organized digital project files
- Assist with budgeting, project planning, and preconstruction activities
- Continuously improve estimating accuracy and efficiency
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of commercial and/or industrial electrical experience
- Ability to manage multiple bid deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Previous electrical estimating experience
- Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, data organization, and spreadsheet management
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Current or previous Texas Journeyman Electrician License
- Texas Master Electrician License
- Experience using Trimble Accubid Classic
- Experience with LiveCount
- Experience using Bluebeam Revu
- Experience with PlanHub, BuildingConnected, or similar bidding platforms
- Experience estimating commercial and industrial electrical projects ranging from $5,000 to $2,000,000+
- Strong understanding of electrical material pricing, labor units, and value engineering
Work Location
This is primarily a remote position.
Candidates should be located in North Texas. Occasional project site visits, pre-bid meetings, customer walk-throughs, or team meetings in the North Texas area may be requested.
