Full Job Description

Job Summary

Proactively identify hazards through conducting compliance related observations and ensure safe behaviors are performed on the job site. Conduct regular site walks to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliant equipment. Inspect tooling, equipment, and PPE to ensure they are in good working order.

Experience Requirements

· The ability to use current application technology on tablets and phones.

· Bilingual (English and Spanish).

· Capable of multitasking and leading meetings.

· This is an entry level safety position, but some experience is a plus.

· Willing to obtain OSHA credentials (paid for by the company).

Compliance Inspections

· Lead and/or retain each crew’s JHA.

· Travel to each job site within the jurisdiction and conduct Daily Safety Checks (evaluate company scaffolding and excavations daily).

· Perform a compliance inspection on each job site within the jurisdiction each week.

· Conduct heavy equipment inspections on all dirt moving equipment.

Training and Communication

· Conduct weekly “Toolbox Talks” to each jobsite within sector.

· Deliver safety related communications from company leadership as directed.

· Promote a strong safety culture through example and consistent coaching.

· Manage site Sign In/Out logs and turn in weekly to Safety Office.

· Manage PPE needs within jurisdiction.

Incident Management

· Assist with incident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.

· Coordinate emergency response drills as directed.

Collaboration

· Work with Superintendents and Forman to address safety concerns and negotiate corrective actions.

· Provide counsel and guidance to mitigate risk during work activities.

· Maintain readiness of water, electrolytes, and cooling stations.

· Ability to work outside of normal hours as needed (i.e. nights, weekends, and holidays).

· Attend weekly safety meeting at Safety Office.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
