Full Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Supervision and Support: Monitor patients throughout the day, ensuring safety and emotional well-being. This includes overseeing daily routines, performing safety checks, and encouraging positive social interactions.
Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support during emotional or behavioral crises, often helping to de-escalate situations and prevent hospitalization.
Therapeutic Engagement: Facilitate group activities, life skills sessions, and psychoeducational groups. They may also participate in recreational or experiential therapies.
Routine and Structure: Help patients establish and maintain daily routines, which is especially important in structured environments like residential treatment centers.
Documentation and Communication: Record observations, progress notes, and report to clinical supervisors or therapists. They may also assist with intake paperwork and orientation for new patients.
Basic Care and Logistics: Assist with transportation, meals (especially in eating disorder units), and sometimes basic maintenance or clerical tasks.
