Full Job Description

Job Summary
Haven of Hope (HOH) is looking for an innovative and dynamic individual to join our team of passionate and mission-driven care providers. HOH is a faith-based, low-barrier community center for individuals experiencing homelessness or economic hardship, providing its beloved guests with a holistic and carefully structured array of services, resources, and programs, designed to meet them where they are, and walk alongside them as they return to a self-sufficient life.

Responsibilities

● Build authentic, trust centered relationships with guests by showing up with compassion, empathy, non-judgement, and respect. Engaging guests in ways that honor their lived experience, autonomy, and personal story, creating a sense of belonging within the community.

● Demonstrate reliability through follow‑through, active listening, and non‑judgmental support.

● Use relational connection as a foundation for motivation, accountability, and hope, modeling healthy interpersonal skills and emotional regulation.

● Reinforce an asset-based approach by consistently identifying and elevating guest strengths, capacities, and progress. Supporting guests in recognizing their own resilience, skills, and past successes as tools for future growth. Using language and interactions that affirm dignity, capability, and agency rather than focusing on deficits or problems.

● Support early-stage engagement, crisis stabilization, and ongoing encouragement

● Support participants in weekly goal-setting, accountability, and progress tracking.

● Model healthy coping strategies, recovery principles, personal responsibility, and resilience.

● Lead and Co-facilitate peer run groups, workshops, or activities.

● Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and reflective supervision.

● Document participant interactions using strengths based, person centered language, and trauma-informed practices.

● Maintain healthy boundaries and uphold ethical peer support standards/ethics.

● Assisting participants in navigating available services, resources, and program opportunities

Required Qualifications:

● Certified Peer Support Specialist

● Lived experience with recovery, homelessness, justice involvement, mental health challenges, or similar experiences.

● Experience with taking progress notes with clients, coaches, and interacting with clinical staff

● Participation in ongoing training and supervision

● Ability to model stability, resilience, and healthy coping strategies

● Bilingual in Spanish and English (Preferred)

Core Competencies:

● Group Facilitation Addiction/recovery group facilitation

● Motivational interviewing and relational engagement

● Goal setting and accountability

● Trauma-informed care and de-escalation techniques

● Familiarity with Medicaid billing/language

● Experience working with individuals experiencing poverty and instability

● Case management navigation and skills

● Basic case navigation and service coordination

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
