Full Job Description

TRANSPORTATION DRIVER

SUMMARY
The Transportation Driver safely transports guests to and from designated locations while providing exceptional guest service, hotel information, and local area assistance. This position may be scheduled as part-time and/or on an on-call basis depending on business needs and event activity.

Drivers assigned to qualifying driving events will receive a $75 event completion incentive per completed driving shift.

Please review the Qualifications & Requirements section carefully prior to applying, including driving record standards, safety-sensitive drug testing requirements, and all applicable licensing and screening requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide the highest quality of service to guests at all times and anticipate and exceed guest expectations.
Know and live the mission and White Lodging/brand standards.
Respond to all pages and radio calls promptly and in accordance with federal, state, and local laws while operating company vehicles.
Transport guests safely to and from designated locations and assist with guest questions regarding destinations and local information.
Assist guests with hotel and area information and provide accurate directions.
Ensure prompt pickup and delivery of guests.
Ensure all luggage is loaded and unloaded safely using proper lifting procedures.
Upon arrival at the hotel, direct guests to the Front Desk for registration and assist with luggage delivery to the lobby area.
Communicate professionally and effectively with guests, associates, and leadership. Respond appropriately to guest concerns.
Maintain knowledge of hotel services, operating hours, hotel surroundings, restaurants, shopping, and area attractions.
Maintain vehicle mileage logs and complete all required documentation accurately.
Ensure vehicles are clean, properly maintained, and operating safely. Complete pre-shift inspections as required.
Understand and comply with all vehicle safety regulations and emergency procedures.
Ensure vehicles maintain appropriate fuel levels at all times.
Report all accidents, incidents, or traffic violations involving company vehicles to management immediately.
Maintain confidentiality and security of all guest and hotel information.
Report unsafe conditions or suspicious activity to management immediately.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with company standards.
Attend work as scheduled and comply with attendance and appearance standards.
Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and required trainings.
Practice safety standards at all times, including use of personal protective equipment when required.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards outlined in company handbooks and driver policies.
Complete all required safety and compliance trainings.
Promote teamwork and positive associate morale.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Must be at least 21 years of age in accordance with applicable motor carrier regulations.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record in accordance with company standards and insurance requirements.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of driving history with a satisfactory driving record.
Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings, including a background check, motor vehicle record review, and drug screening. This position is considered safety-sensitive, and drug testing may include marijuana in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Must successfully complete required training, certification testing, and driving evaluations, which may include ride-along and/or ride-behind assessments. Ongoing driving evaluations may be conducted periodically throughout employment.
Must possess any additional licenses, endorsements, or certifications required by federal, state, or local regulations.
Must be able to safely operate company vehicles and comply with all company driving policies and safety procedures.
Must comply with all applicable federal and state Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), where applicable to the position.

For positions subject to federal or state motor carrier regulations, drivers may also be required to:

Maintain a valid medical examiner’s certificate, if required by law.
Pass a driver road test or equivalent qualification process.
Maintain eligibility to operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV), if applicable.
Provide information regarding motor vehicle violations in accordance with applicable regulations.
Maintain only one valid commercial motor vehicle operator’s license, when required by law.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Previous hospitality or transportation experience preferred, but not required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally with assistance.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, use hands, and communicate effectively throughout scheduled shifts.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and traffic conditions.
