Non - Exempt
Pay range: $20.50-26.00
Reports to: Clinical Manager
Location: Remote after Training onsite per Manager's discretion

REMOTE REQUIREMENTS:
Internet minimum recommendation:

o 20Mb/s down, 10Mb/s up, less than 10ms latency. Comcast offers up to 1000Mb/s down, 40Mb/s up, less than 5ms latency.

Computer:

o Windows 10 or 11 with i5 processor or better, 8GB+ RAM or better, 1920x1080 resolution screen, ability to run an extra monitor if you wish.

o Gotchas: 4K(3840x2160) may be too small of a font for some of the applications. You will have to play with your settings to read some parts of Intergy.

o Mac with Sequoia OS or newer.

o Virus protection on your computer. Recommend Sentinel One or Sophos.

***No Chromebooks, Windows 7, old Mac OS, etc. Computers must be able to update to stay secure.

Position Summary:

Gastroenterology of the Rockies is a rapidly growing Gastroenterology practice in Boulder County and the greater Denver Metro area with eight office locations and five Ambulatory Surgery Centers.

Performs standard Medical Assistant duties in a remote setting, to include greeting patients, obtaining information and documentation, and supporting the medical provider and nursing staff as required. Inputs information to patient records, makes calls to provide patients with information, schedules patients for return visits and/or procedures, and other general office duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

In all encounters, acts as the patient’s advocate to ensure optimum patient satisfaction with the experience and care they receive. Always communicates in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that preserves the patient’s rights and dignity.
Interacts with and assists providers in completing each patient interaction. Any event that involves patient dissatisfaction is documented and referred to a lead person, supervisor, or manager for action.
Answer inbound patient calls and provide information within the scope of a MA.
Document all patient interactions in the appropriate system in a timely and accurate manner and verify that all documentation is complete, concise, and accurately reflects the complete situation and the care that was given.
Triage calls appropriately and escalate clinical concerns when necessary.
Support Care Teams by managing Medical Assistant task boxes during planned and unplanned absences.
Addresses tasks in a timely manner (within 7 days, as soon as possible for urgent tasks). Able to prioritize tasks appropriately. All electronic charting is complete, accurate and professional.
Ability to work independently while remaining a collaborative team member.
Flexibility to support multiple Care Teams as daily operational needs change.
Adapt to changing priorities and assist with other remote support duties as needed.
Perform other tasks, projects and assignments as requested by management.

Establishes and maintains professional and positive relationships with all members of the company, outside organizations, clients, providers, patients and any other individual or organization necessary to effectively perform the duties and responsibilities of the position
Maintains absolute confidentiality of all companies and patient information in all situations and activities.
Demonstrates positive support for the mission and values of the company in all situations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant Program, Certified Nursing Assistant Program, Emergency Medical Technician Program, OR college graduate with science major. High School Diploma required.
Excellent communications and customer service skills.
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with patients, medical providers, and other staff members. Supports teamwork and contributes to achieving company goals.
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Experience in working in a fast-paced, high-volume remote environment
Intermediate computer skills, with experience in medical software (Intergy preferred).

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This position requires frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the clinic, as well as assisting patients and performing clinical tasks. Duties may include occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, bending, reaching, and use of medical equipment.
Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
