Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to join our dynamic maternity team. This vital role involves providing expert nursing care to expectant mothers throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical excellence, strong communication skills, and a deep commitment to supporting families during one of life’s most significant moments. This position offers an opportunity to work within a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient-centered care and professional growth.

Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs continuously, utilizing advanced electronic fetal monitoring systems.
Assist with obstetric procedures including suturing, catheterization, and sterile technique management during delivery.
Educate patients and their families on childbirth processes, postpartum care, and newborn care practices.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and neonatal specialists to coordinate optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Respond swiftly to obstetric emergencies utilizing critical care skills acquired through Level I or Level II trauma center experience.
Support infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during all clinical procedures to prevent healthcare-associated infections.

Skills

Valid Registered Nurse license with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
Extensive experience in labor and delivery nursing within hospital or birthing center settings.
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems), including Cerner or Epic platforms.
Strong knowledge of obstetric assessments, fetal monitoring technology, and neonatal resuscitation procedures.
Ability to perform suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and other invasive procedures confidently.
Familiarity with obstetric medications administration including pain management options such as epidurals or Botulinum toxin treatment for specific cases.
Excellent communication skills for patient education, family support, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
