Full Job Description

Job Overview:

Paralegals provide consistent, robust support to attorneys and help with all legal tasks. Paralegals work closely with Hailey | Hart ("HH") attorneys and routinely interface with HH clients, other lawyers, HH vendors and contractors, HH staff, and personnel within the state and federal court systems. Paralegals are an integral part of HH case management and litigation teams. Paralegals help train other law firm staff and have the discretion to delegate tasks to other staff members as appropriate. HH paralegals are proactive, reliable, accurate, meticulous, efficient, and creative. HH paralegals carefully manage their time and workload, ensuring all tasks are prioritized appropriately and completed by applicable deadlines.

Each HH paralegal is responsible for fulfilling the following duties:

· actively and timely communicating with HH attorneys

· drafting motions, pleadings, disclosure certificates, written discovery requests and responses, notices, demands, letters, and mediation statements

· generating, compiling, and organizing exhibits for court filings and trial

· filing documents with the court

· serving documents on parties, opposing counsel, and others

· ordering, reviewing, and redacting as appropriate various records and bills

· creating medical / treatment and deposition / testimony summaries

· summarizing deposition transcripts

· interfacing with clients to gather and transmit information and documents

· calendaring deadlines

· proofreading / finalizing documents

· helping prepare cases for trial

· attending trial and providing trial support

· knowing and abiding by relevant court rules and practice standards

· fostering firmwide compliance with relevant court rules and practice standards

· scheduling depositions, mediations, and court appearances

· attending case meetings

· being familiar with the firm’s docket and case load

· proactively identifying pre-litigation and litigation tasks for assigned cases

· helping to train other firm staff

· scanning and saving to Filevine all incoming postal mail and faxes

· providing telephone coverage for other firm staff as needed

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
