About BKC

BKC Kitchen and Bath is an award-winning kitchen and bath design showroom in Englewood, Colorado, specializing in American made cabinetry, countertops, and related accessories. With more than 45 years in business, we are one of the leading cabinetry designers in the Denver metro area.

The Role

The Cabinetry Ordering and Quality Associate is the last set of eyes on every project before it goes to the manufacturer. You protect our designers, and our clients by catching errors before they become expensive problems. Once the order is error-free you will place the order. This is a full-time, in office position reporting to the Director of Business Operations.

This role suits someone who has cabinet design background, is meticulous with numbers and details, confident in their judgment, and comfortable working in a collaborative, design driven business.

Core Responsibilities

Review cabinetry plans for design errors, omissions, and inconsistencies before orders are placed.
Verify plans against orders for accuracy and completeness.
Place purchase orders in vendor systems and enter them in QuickBooks Online.
Prepare, route, and track order related paperwork: submittals, acknowledgements, confirmations, parts, and sample orders.
Monitor order status across vendor systems and communicate updates to designers, warehouse, and installers.
Track manufacturers lead times and price increase deadlines; alert the team in time to act on them.
Upload order documentation to digital customer files and maintain order tracking records.
Create and distribute internal order packets.
Manage claims, shortages, and damage replacements with manufacturers; follow through until credits or replacements are received.
Reconcile vendor acknowledgements[HM1] against purchase orders and flag discrepancies that affect job margin.
Document and continuously improve written ordering procedures.
Serve as backup to the Showroom Manager, welcoming clients and answering phones when needed.
Work additional hours when order volume or deadlines require.

What Success Looks Like

Order accuracy rate of 98 percent or better.
Accurate orders placed within 1 business day.

Required Skills and Experience

Four or more years in custom cabinetry design, with working knowledge of manufacturer catalogs and specification conventions.
Strong numerical and analytical skills, with proven accuracy on detailed, high-volume work.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the rest of Microsoft Office.
Ability to learn new software quickly; we use several vendor portals, QuickBooks Online, and internal systems.
Excellent written and verbal English communication.
Ability to manage multiple orders and competing deadlines without losing track of details.
Professional confidence and diplomacy. You will regularly need to tell experienced designers that their plans have a problem, that a deadline has been missed, or that a change cannot happen the way they want. The right person delivers that news directly and respectfully, does not take pushback personally, and holds the line when accuracy is on the table.

Preferred

Experience with cabinetry manufacturer ordering portals.
QuickBooks Online experience.
Familiarity with the spec books of cabinet manufacturers Crystal, Koch, W W Wood Products, and/or Primary Kitchen.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $50,000-$55,000 per year, depending on experience.
