Compensation - $25/hr. BASE. Bonus and Commission on top of the that. Earning potential $60k/yr.-$80k/yr.

License Required: Active Life Insurance License; California license or ability to obtain a California non-resident license
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated, professional Life Insurance Sales & Service Representative to help current customers and new prospects protect their families and financial futures through appropriate life insurance solutions.
This is a life-focused position responsible for the entire customer relationship—from identifying life insurance opportunities and making recommendations through application, underwriting, policy delivery, and ongoing policy service.
The ideal candidate understands that writing the application is only the beginning. You will take ownership of each case and help move it through underwriting and placement while providing excellent ongoing service to both new and existing policyholders.
Key Responsibilities
Life Insurance Sales
- Contact and work with existing Allstate customers and new prospects to identify life insurance needs and opportunities.
- Conduct life insurance needs conversations and recommend appropriate coverage based on the customer's situation.
- Explain life insurance products in a clear, professional, and customer-friendly manner.
- Develop new life insurance opportunities through outbound calls, follow-up, referrals, existing customer relationships, and agency leads.
- Follow up consistently with prospects and customers throughout the sales process.
- Meet established life insurance sales and production goals.
Product Knowledge
Candidates should be familiar with the primary types of life insurance, including:
- Term Life Insurance
- Whole Life Insurance
- Universal Life Insurance
The representative must be able to explain product differences, coverage options, premiums, benefits, and other important considerations so customers can make informed decisions.
Application & Underwriting
The representative will manage cases beyond the initial sale, including:
- Completing life insurance applications accurately.
- Collecting required customer and application information.
- Submitting applications for underwriting.
- Tracking applications throughout the underwriting process.
- Following up on outstanding underwriting requirements.
- Communicating with customers regarding exams, medical records, additional information, or other requirements when applicable.
- Working with carriers and underwriting teams to help move applications toward a final decision.
- Keeping customers informed throughout the process.
- Following up on approved, modified, postponed, or declined applications as appropriate.
Policy Delivery & Placement
Once a policy is approved, the representative will help ensure it is successfully placed and delivered by:
- Reviewing approved coverage with the customer.
- Explaining the policy and confirming the customer's understanding of their coverage.
- Completing policy delivery requirements.
- Assisting with premium/payment requirements when appropriate.
- Following up to ensure policies are successfully issued and placed in force.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of customer communication and policy activity.
Existing Policy Service
This is not strictly a new-sales position. The representative will also provide ongoing service to existing and newly written life insurance customers.
Responsibilities may include:
- Answering questions regarding existing life policies.
- Assisting customers with beneficiary and other permitted policy changes.
- Helping customers understand billing, premiums, and policy information.
- Assisting with appropriate policy service requests.
- Conducting policy reviews and identifying changing insurance needs.
- Helping retain existing life insurance business.
- Identifying additional coverage opportunities when a customer's needs have changed.
- Maintaining long-term relationships with policyholders.
Licensing Requirements
- Active Life Insurance license is required.
- Must be properly licensed to conduct life insurance business in California before conducting activities requiring a California license.
- Candidates licensed in another state must be willing and eligible to obtain a California non-resident insurance license, if applicable.
- Must maintain all required licenses, appointments, continuing education, and other regulatory requirements applicable to the position.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous life insurance sales or service experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Term, Whole Life, and Universal Life insurance.
- Strong sales, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to explain insurance concepts in simple, understandable language.
- Strong telephone and customer follow-up skills.
- Ability to confidently discuss sensitive financial and family protection needs.
- Strong organizational and case-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple applications at different stages of underwriting.
- Attention to detail when completing applications and documentation.
- Persistence in following up with customers, prospects, and underwriting.
- A professional, customer-first approach.
- Ability to work independently while following established agency processes and compliance requirements.

A successful Life Insurance Sales & Service Representative doesn't simply submit applications. They own the customer experience from beginning to end.
Success means consistently generating life insurance opportunities, recommending appropriate solutions, submitting accurate applications, actively managing underwriting, getting approved policies placed and delivered, and continuing to provide excellent service after the sale.
The goal is to build lasting customer relationships while helping more families obtain and maintain the life insurance protection they need.
