Full Job Description

Seeking experienced Escrow Officer for preparation and closing of residential closing files.

Who you are:

You will assist in processing and pre-closing responsibilities, as well as closing responsibilities. You will be working with agents and their clients to keep the process moving forward, verifying that titles are clean, taxes are paid, and loans are funded. You’ll ensure that no funds or property will change hands until all terms have been carried to completion.

You’re a Polished Professional, Trusted consultant, maintaining a positive attitude that gives agents and homebuyers alike the confidence that their transaction is in reliable, good hands and will be completed on time.

Problem solver, using your industry knowledge to identify potential issues; recognizing what’s wrong, knowing how to fix it, and avoiding unnecessary delays.

Responsibilities include:

Open new escrow files/Review sales contract and loan documents to ensure compliance at closing, noting appropriate “target” dates such as the title/survey objection date.
Review title commitment to ascertain what requirements must be met in order to issue final title policy(ies), and work with Lead Escrow Officer to complete requirements.
Obtain payoffs from lenders, homeowner/condominium associations, water, sewer & trash servicing companies, county and city taxing authorities and any other person/entity necessary in the transaction.
Collect and prepare necessary documentation to complete the closing transaction.
Upon completion of the closing transaction, assist the Escrow Closing team in the post-closing process.
Greet clients and answer phones in professional manner and provide exceptional written and verbal communication to agents and clients. Address client needs in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner. Correspond with lenders, builders, agents and attorneys as needed.
Open title and closing file within the operating system.
Initiate/Approve wires.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Business/Professional Attire required.
Sales/Marketing activities

Qualifications include:

Strong problem-solving skills and desire to dig into complex title issues and identify solutions.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining strong attention to details and timelines.
PREFERRED: 1+ years of experience in the title insurance industry -or- 2+ years related industry experience, required. (Banking, Real Estate Transaction support, Mortgage industry, familiarity with standard title insurance and/or mortgage lending concepts, practices and procedures, and/or actual closing experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) title insurance software and/or mortgage loan closing software.
Missouri Notary and Missouri title producers license (if not currently licensed, must obtain promptly upon hiring)
High school diploma or GED required (college degree or paralegal certified preferred)
