Nurse Manager – Operating Room & Nursing Services

Ladner Facial Plastic Surgery is a premier facial plastic surgery and aesthetic practice known for natural, refined results and an elevated patient experience.

Employment Status: Full-Time (40 hours per week)Compensation: $120,000–$140,000 annually, based on experienceReports to: COO / Practice Administrator

SUMMARY

The Nurse Manager is responsible for directing and managing the daily operations of the Operating Room and nursing team while also rotating into bedside and OR coverage to support patient care and clinical flow.

This role provides both clinical expertise and operational leadership, ensuring policies, procedures, and standards of care are consistently followed while maintaining a high level of patient experience. The Nurse Manager partners closely with surgeons and executive leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical operations in a cost-effective manner.

The Nurse Manager serves as a hands-on leader, coaching and developing nursing staff, managing staffing and workflows, and addressing operational or patient issues as they arise. This position plays a critical role in advancing clinical excellence, professional growth, and team accountability within a fast-paced surgical environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

An employee in this position may be called upon to perform any or all of the following:

Clinical and Bedside Responsibilities

Rotate into OR, recovery, and bedside nursing coverage as needed to support surgical schedules and staffing needs. Provide clinical leadership during surgical days and patient recovery. Serve as a clinical resource and escalation point for nursing staff. Maintain clinical competency and adherence to best practices through active patient care.

OR and Nursing Operations Management

Direct and manage the daily operations of the Operating Room and nursing services. Ensure policies, procedures, and guidelines are consistently followed. Utilize evidence-based practice to develop, maintain, and improve workflows and standards. Ensure OR readiness, staffing alignment, and smooth daily surgical flow. Maintain facility readiness for AAAHC surveys, ensuring all clinical areas meet or exceed accreditation standards at all times.

Leadership, Performance, and Culture

Lead, coach, and develop nursing staff through clear expectations and accountability. Establish performance metrics and evaluate outcomes related to quality, efficiency, and patient experience. Select, train, develop, and evaluate nursing team members. Make decisions related to hiring, performance management, and corrective action in partnership with leadership. Create a professional, respectful, and high-performance team culture.

Quality, Safety, and Compliance

Serve as the clinical lead for AAAHC accreditation, overseeing the continuous Quality Improvement (QI) program and peer review processes.Interpret and communicate regulatory standards, policies, and safety requirements. Ensure compliance with applicable quality, safety, and infection-control initiatives. Address escalated operational or patient concerns with professionalism and sound judgment. Coordinate and document mandatory safety drills, infection control surveillance, and environmental clinical audits required for accreditation.

Operational and Financial Stewardship

Ensure staff and resources are utilized effectively and adjust coverage based on surgical demand. Participate in staffing models, budget considerations, and cost-effective decision making. Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Collaboration and Leadership Partnership

Partner with surgeons, anesthesia, and leadership to enhance clinical operations. Represent nursing and OR operations in leadership discussions and planning. Support growth initiatives and operational scalability.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master’s degree in Nursing or a healthcare-related field preferred.

Experience

Minimum of five years of nursing experience, including perioperative or surgical services. Prior leadership experience such as Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, or Lead RN. Demonstrated ability to manage teams while remaining clinically engaged.

Licensure and Certifications

Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Colorado. BLS/ACLS (American Heart Association) required.

Preferred: Prior experience leading or participating in a successful AAAHC or Joint Commission accreditation survey.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time position, primarily Monday through Friday. Clinical and leadership coverage required based on surgical schedule and operational needs.
