Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Travel MRI Technologist to join our medical imaging team for a 13-week contract. In this vital role, you will operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners to produce detailed images that assist in diagnosing a wide range of medical conditions. Your expertise will ensure high-quality imaging, patient safety, and exceptional patient care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your advanced knowledge of medical imaging technology in a fast-paced healthcare environment dedicated to improving patient outcomes.

Duties

Operate MRI scanners and other diagnostic imaging equipment with precision, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis
Prepare patients for MRI procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and addressing any concerns to ensure comfort and cooperation
Perform specialized imaging procedures including CT scans, DEXA scans (dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry), sonography, and vascular access techniques as needed
Maintain strict adherence to patient safety protocols, including aseptic techniques and equipment safety procedures
Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to acquire diagnostic images that meet clinical requirements and facilitate effective evaluation
Manage Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for storing, retrieving, and transmitting medical images securely
Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operated in compliance with safety standards and regulations
Assist in patient care by monitoring vital signs during procedures and providing support throughout the imaging process

Skills

Extensive knowledge of MRI technology, including using MRI scanners effectively for various diagnostic purposes
Proficiency in performing CT scans, DEXA scans, sonography, and vascular access procedures
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to diagnostic radiology
Ability to operate complex medical equipment safely while following all safety regulations and protocols
Excellent patient care skills with a focus on patient safety, comfort, and effective communication
Familiarity with medical imaging software systems such as PACS for image management and documentation
Basic life support (BLS) certification to respond effectively in emergency situations
Skilled in IV insertion techniques and maintaining aseptic technique during procedures
Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation processes to assist radiologists in accurate interpretation of images
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced healthcare setting
